Just received my qoute for renewal of car insurance for a 6 year old Corolla I have valued at €5,500. My excess is 500 euro and the renewal qoute is 389.69 ex vat for fully comprehensive. I have a 2 years no claims bonus of 40%. Do you think this represents good value. Would I be better off going 3rd party, fire and theft and see what the difference is or should I stick to fully comp. Just looking for general advice.

    - you should shop around for different quotes.
    - in the event of you writing off your car then the 5500 is not what you will get back, you will only get back the market value.
    - personally i would go for comp insurance if my car was worth anything over about 2000 and i didnt have the free cash to buy a new one if the unfortunite happens, especially if reliant on the car for work etc
