Why oh why must EVERY thread not last 1 page without a reference to the recession, the banks, corrupt politicians and the general state of the country?

I mean, it doesn't matter what the topic of the thread is, someone always mentions these things.

We're all ****ed, we get it! But the next time someone starts a thread "What would you name your cat?" they're not asking for a political statement from you. Don't say "Bertie, because banks yadda yadda i'm on the dole because of Fianna Fail yadda yadda". It's not funny! Say "Mittens, Mittens is a nice name for a cat".

Yea it's a pain in the ass isn't it. Us Irish are great at complaining...we seem to love it & we will be giving out about these things for another 30 years i'd say.
I do get sick of hearing about "the recession" myself...Wish people would talk about other things.

I have about as much hope in the banking system as I do in religious systems, but at least I know the banking system exists.

TBF, if Bertie did a better job this country wouldn't be in a recession and therefore people wouldn't be picking on the Religious folk like priests. But alas, the housing market has crashed, the bankers are thieves and some other rabble about unimportant stuff
