No internet access for most programs

    My internet connection only allows me to connect to Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. Programs like Skype and Windows Live Messenger do not work.

    I'm currently using Windows Vista x86. Firewalls are turned off.

    Can someone help me with this problem? Is there any other system information I have to provide?

    Which company (ISP) provides Internet connection?
    Many broadband mobile providers (but not only) block connections from such programs like Skype.
