    Hi all.Has anyonre fished lough doon in leitrim?I'm going on holidays not too far from there next week and found this little lough on the net.It sounds good but I want to know if it is fishable from the bank as I wil be bringing the kids with me.Cheers!

    I've fished it a few times. Nice little lake. Trout are small but plentiful.

    It is fishable from the bank for a stretch along the road-side of the lake. You would do better with the boat though (There is a boat on the lake which is available for hire).

    You need a permit to fish it which you can get from the Blue-Devon pub in Dromahaire. Shore permit is €5pp, €20 get you permits and the boat for the day.

    Also bear in mind that it is Fly fishing only.
