Anyone know where I can get decent road inner tubes in bulk i.e, 5 or 10? They all seem to have gone up in price.

The Edge on Kinsale Rd roundabout have something like 4 or 5 for €21 if you're around the city.

Word of warning about them tubes, i used them for maybe 1000kms and got a puncture, notice while changing the tube that the valve is starting to come away from the tube so ended up throwing the tube out, might be just me but they don't seem to last as long as the more expensive brands.

In future i'm gonna pay the extra for a better longer lasting brand.

Same happened me with these, they have split on me a few times while inflating them, won't be buying them again.

Never had much of a prob with them. In fact anything I order something from CRC I always throw some in. I even like their dayglo green valve cap.

Pure sh!te, of the last ten I ordered 4 exploded on inflation, 4 punctured within 3 km and 3 were fine. False economy.

I have those airwaves and they are absolutely fine. No issues whatsoever with daily commuting on the mean streets of Dublin.

I am with Pete here. Certainly had some mysterious punctures but no more then I would expect but at €3-ish a pop certainy an expenible item.

When I go to Chainreactions, the first thing I do is go to sale and then organise by "Discount - High to Low". To be honest that saving doesn't pay back all the time I've spent aimlessly browsing the sale section.

Got a freebie of a box of ten of those airwaves from a friend of mine a while back. I was only starting to get really into cycling at that stage and thought he was just being nice and giving me a pack... after 3 went on inflation, the valve was dead on one, he finally admitted he was just fobbing them off onto me!!

Since then I have been just buying tubes in one's or two's whenever I'm in the shop and I'm running low. So my next question would be how do people find those Continentals in a box of 10?

As far as I can gather (not having used them myself, but from accounts here, and from other users, including the CRC reviews), those Airwave tubes may have some suspect quality control on certain batches. It seems if you get one bad tube, you're going to get a bunch of them, but at the same time, it's possible to get a box where they're all perfect, in which case they are great value. If you look at the CRC review page (especially sorted by date), the dates on the bad reviews seem to suggest they come in spates, as if a batch of bad tubes comes in and everyone reacts, after which a good batch comes through, and favourable reviews win out.

So at the time of purchase, it seems like a lottery as to whether you'll get decent or crap tubes, but if you get good ones, it's a great bargain..... not sure I want to rely on that though

Too many buyers may have raised alarm bells.
