Galway Races

Hi,
Took a few photos at the Galway Races today. it was only my second outing with my Sigma 70-200 f2.8 so still getting to grips with it.

They're far from great, not even that good. I was there for 2 races only so didn't have much time to plan where to stand etc.

I love photos 7,8,9 and the queen in 10.

Really like 4, 8 & 9.

Though if I had to choose, I think 4 would take it for me.

cheers, I really like no 4 as well.
The girl all dressed up I spotted from a distance but there were people in the way. I just managed to snap her as she was passing. I think the rail in the foreground adds to the picture.

I'm planning on going back for the Autumn races (Saturday, 27th August to Monday, 29th August) and spend a full day there.

Some nice shots in there, you have to be fairly ruthless with the editing too. In the three shots of them rounding the bend I would choose the first and delete the other two. Watch the white balance on the Sigma too, it can be a bit warm (slight yellow tint) Maybe some more contrast might give them a pop, some of them seem a bit washed out

Nice set though, you have another chance at the end of the month

If you open the image file below in Photoshop and open levels you can see either side of the image information it falls of to nothing so you can clip the levels in to give it more pop, a quick sharpen too. hope you dont mind me adjusting it?
