    Hi,
Any recommendations for a good sports massage in Dublin, preferably south city? I'm looking for somewhere I can use regularly between now and DCM.
    Thanks!

    hey,

Found Darren in base 2 race v good. Think you can 'bulk buy' sessions which works out cheaper too.

Peter Mathews - Funtional Training Ireland - 29 Upper Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2 | 01 6629231, just off Baggot Street. I find him great for deep tissue massage and he knows his stuff as he was an International Runner in his day.;)

RoverHogan, you will get many more than two recommendations for Pete Mathews on this forum :D

He kept me going through training for Edinburgh, despite my body wanting to give up.

Just be prepared - he gets in deep with those elbows

Vinny Mulvey has done a great job keeping me on my feet over the last year and has recently moved into Dublin just off the M50

How long does the sessions take and what's the cost (rough figure is fine)?

I have never had this before but feel my training and recovery would be improved.

Normal price range: 45-65 per session

    Normal Duration: 30 min - 1 hour

Like everything shop around a bit and some advice would be to go to someone with a background in running or treating runners I have found to be very beneficial when helping find someone who is good and not just in it to make as much money as possible

That's why I recommended www.PhysicalRemedy.eu Medbh is a marathon and ultra runner herself. She's really into it. Her prices would be about the same.

I just moved to tallaght and will be operating out of my clinic in Ashbourne and also tallaght. I am currently in the process of updating Google maps on my website to reflect this.

I will offer a 20 per cent discount to anyone on boards...

    Cheers

+1 on Ciaran Fitzpatrick in Ballinteer. Not for the faint hearted by all accounts though! But he works wonders.

Yep, second this. Ciaran Fitzpatrick top drawer, extremely knowledgable, ex competitiive runner, expert on myofascial release and injury rehab.Had 2 sessions after frozen shoulder made back/neck go bad. Helped a lot. IMHO for muscular / rheumatoid pain, if youre not satisfied with Doctor/Physio (lack of) knowledge and propensity to push drugs / surgery, educate yourself then go the acupuncture /deep tissue route . For me, ..prehab; stretching / physio..REhab; stretching/pilates/deep tissue massage/strengthening. (But everyones different)
