Carers Allowance Query?

My Husband passed away recently and he was on the state pension and i got a flat pension from state and carers allowance, What i want to know is what i am entitled to : i got six weeks of his pension and my pension in a Cheque , I was told i get 6 weeks Carers allowance is this in a Cheque form also or do i just collect it…

Also i never actually applied for a death benefit grant of 850 but they sent me out a cheque saying they processed my aplication im glad to get it but just wondering who applied for me
