    just picked up my new gwp pup ,the" plan "is to train her up as a deer dog that will also be used on pheasents and snipe as well ,now i have kept springers for the last 20 yrs so this is going to be a bit different ,a challange you might say :D:D
    so all advice ,recomendations,links ,and book suggestions welcome ....

    Nice looking pup Ianoo.. Bryantscroft, Hunt Point and Retrieve training series.. 4 dvds in the set absolutely crackin stuff costs roughly 100 sterling but worth every penny, takes you from puppyhood right through to advanced

    thanks for the recomendation Alchemist2 ,now does any kind soul out there have a copy of said DVD'S that they could loan me for a night so i could get a look at them :rolleyes:(if you know what i mean ):D

    Ive one about 4 months old... ill let you know how i get on.. she knows sit and is learning stay at the minute... a bit more work to them alright.. they say you should get them on the dear at an early age and worry about the birds after

    That's a very good looking pup. Im on my second one. They are brilliant. I find them sensitive tho, u cant be too hard on them and react great to small praise.Mine is only 1yr old now she is great at retrieving, will point rabbits and runs in at pheasants which were working on at the mo. They are very intelligent.
    My last GWP was amaing, I only had to teach her the whistle that was it, everything else came naturally.
    You wont be disappointed. Good luck.
    Oh I find Dery Argue DVD excellent and all I ever needed.
