Which car? 02 X-Type or 03 Saab 9-5? Any advice you can share?

If it's for 6 months I'd be looking at resale as the major factor, I would think an X type would be hard to shift on. In saying that a friend has on 02 one since new, loves it. A lad I work with also has an 02 one for the last 6 or 7 years, no major issues. I don't know about the auto coupled with the AWD for issues though. Servicing wise spark plugs and the like are awkward enough to do on the Jag with the V6 but if you have it only 6 months it's not a worry.

Tbh if you are getting rid again in 6 months and have an interest in getting most of your 3 to 4 k back a more run of the mill saloon may be a better option, the likes of a Mondeo etc.

It'd be the 4 wheel drive Jaguar for me.

You will be married to anything that is over 2.0 litre and petrol. If you only need a car for 6 months then look at buying a sub €1000 mid 1990s Corolla or Almera. Cheap to run, tax, generally reliable and you will probably get most of your money back on it in 6 months time.

I see no point in spending €3500 on car especially an undesireable one today that can still loose alot of money in order to try and shift it in 6 months time.

As previous poster said anything over 2.0 petrol would be hard to move on regardless.. You said you needed a 4 door but I have had both XTYPE and Mondeo and assuming you need it for kids e.t.c I found the xtype had less room in the back...

That particular x type looks nice and straight though. Some this age are ropey enough with higher mileage. I was admiring it a few months back myself, but never got around to viewing it.
