    Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

    Hey pretty much I'm moving into a house pretty soon with 4 other fellas and were looking to sort out heating,broadband and electricity.

    Is there any hints & tips or even recommendations ye can give?Also any idea what the average is on bills with students.

    For broadband so far we've looked at UPC which seems great but does it include phoneline and such or what would be the case.

    Thanks.

    hey seloth,

    since the market has opened up with airtricity and the like coming along, its difficult to say who is best. more so its difficult to say who will be best in 5 r 6 months. alot of people switch back and forth between providers to catch the best deal. the prices change regularly to compete.

    a few tips tho;
    1. make sure ur not paying for services you didnt get, take all the readings on ur first day and refuse to pay anything being charged before that on the property.
    2. make sure you know which bills are urs and which are not. check ur contract for things like rubbish, tv licence etc.
    3. take readings and forward a closing balance to ur providers on ur last day. u dont wanna loose ur deposit over unpaid bills for supplys u didnt even use.
    4. enjoy the year!
