Dont know if this is the right place to post this so mods feel free to move but, how would you go about finding out your blood type?

You could go to a gp and get a blood test. Or if you go and donate blood they will also let you know of your blood type.

Donating blood is the easiest and best way! About a week or so after you donate blood, you get a donor card which says your blood type! Follow the link in my sig for more details about giving blood! :)

Thanks lads, Going to my GP is probably easier for me as I'm pretty sure i cant donate blood in this country as I lived in the uk for a bit.

You can't give blood only if you spent more than a year in total living/working in the U.K between 1980 and 1996 as far as I know, due to the risk of vJCD (Mad Cow Disease I think!)

your GP won't give you blood type from standard tests.
I've had two tests recently for Visa's, one in Blackrock clinic and one in GP's. Both times I asked could they give me blood type and both times I was told it's not something that they test for whilst doing the other tests and you'd have to go specifically to get it done.

Isn't that what the OP is doing?
Going specifically to find out his blood type. Your tests were for something else so they didn't do it.
