Right so the taxpayer pays an additional €77,222 per year to house. cloth and feed them - that'll help solve our problems.

WHY? surely its the eejits in the banks who lent the money out should face jail time

No need for bread and water. House arrest in a NAMA owned apartment block would do the trick and cost little enough.

lol-I sat beside two nama officials as they conducted a meeting with a guy I know who owes 100+ mil, they looked to be enjoying their breakfast together, but the nama guys looked a bit bored tbh. Not gonna happen-business as almost usual for the big guys.

Would there be room in this prison for Mick Wallace, or will we make an exception for those debtors who we like?

Prison should be reserved for criminals and frauds. Instead seize all their assets and family assets regardless of personal guarantees. I and the people of Ireland certainly didn't give personal guarantees when these people took out loans yet their losses and debts are socialised nationally. Just keep them socialised within the family. Yeah it's tough luck but I'd rather see the few suffer a lot for a lifestyle they enjoyed than the nation suffer indiscriminately.
