Just a word of warning for anyone looking at buying Braun Oral B replacement toothbrush heads on eBay.

I recently purchased 8 Oral B Precision clean replacement heads from a UK based seller on ebay.co.uk who had 500+ positive feedback.

The head on the first one I started to use began to wobble after about 3 days use.

I contacted Oral B customer service and they got a courier to pick up the faulty head from me and had it tested.

I've just got a letter back to say that the item tested was a fake.

I'm quite gob smacked as the product and packaging are to my eye indistinguishable from the genuine product.

Indeed the second head that I used performed exactly like a genuine one and the bristle strength and texture is exactly like the real thing.

So just be aware that there appears to be grade a fake oral b heads around.

Razor blades are another big one for fakes. The fakes will be packaged exactly like the real ones, but when you shave, you know the difference. It's difficult to find anything genuine on eBay, the majority of stuff like this is fake. If the price looks too good, then it is.

+1, and perfumes and clothes, ugg boots etc -the worst is fake electrical goods which could be lethal, lots of fake GHD hair devices out there.

I design high power machines myself and a company in the UK got a copy of one of my machines made, it was so close a copy I did not spot it at first glance, inside all the electrics were not up to required standards, thin wires which are a fire risk etc. The company agreed to stop selling them (we actually knew them well), but I have still seen these hazardous copies around dublin.

Fakes can also be seized at customs

ebay is the biggest marketplace for fake goods in the world. probably 85% of fashion goods are fake.
