Will a HDTV work with analog cable

Hi all quick question Got given a 19" HD ready tv earlier and using it with standard analog cable Some of the channels are fine but some a fuzzy is this down to it being a HDTV or just my cable at fault

You'll need a HDMI cable.

the cable is prob at fault. (presume its upc you are talking about)

(hdmi has nothing to do with it, unless you are connecting to a stb)

ok , what part of the country are you in , (what transmitter are you getting your signals from?)

what type of aerial do you have , and what orientation is it?

what channels are fuzzy.
