For anyone who has had their camera stolen this is worth a try. www.stolencamerafinder.com/. It reads the EXIF camera data of images from the web and allows you to search. Donno how good it is, but worth a try.

Doesn't work when you need it to :-(

oshead - does your camera record the serial number in the EXIF ? I can't seem to turn that feature on yet the website claims to support the 5D MkII...

Have a look in lightroom, Make, Model and Serial Number are all listed. I don't think I ever had to activate it.

No luck for me either, and my camera is supported (Oly E-520) I can see the serial in PhotoMe I think (don't have lightroom) so I thought this would work fairly easily

Yeah lightroom lists Make, Model, Lens, Flash etc but no mention of serial no. Strange! I couldn't see an option for it in EOS Utility either. Same with new camera.

@landleaving - stolencamerafinder gradually builds up an index from photos posted on the net, so it doesn't have everything. But if you can see your s/n in your EXIF data you at least have a chance of it working in the future.

You need to choose the option in the dialog heading beside where it says Metadata in large writing. Choose EXIF and you should be sorted. Your one is probably set to default.
