register to vote for presidential election?

    Hello Boards,
    Im unsure where this thread shoul be so thought i would post here, I am looking for help regarding registering to vote in the upcoming presidential election, I am not 18 until early september but surely there is a way to register before then as there wont be any elections between now and then


    note: all official websites are very unhelpful

    You need to ring your local Council office.
    Ask to speak with the Register of Electors Dept and request an RFA2 form.
    The form must be completed with your details and identity verified by the Gardai - ie passport/driving lic.
    You can do it now as your birthday is so close.
