Can't understand why they are only making 40,000 though. The original sold 30 million???

I was never into the anger thing about Nirvana but respect for writing some of the catchiest and memorable songs, Love all there albums. But I cant see them giving In Utero or any other album this treatment. But then who knows

In Utero takes a massive dump on Nevermind.... FREE THE ALBINI MIXES!

All the extras look really tasty and tempting, hmmm. I usually end up disappointed with remastered albums though, in some cases where the original sound quality was flawed a remaster sometimes fixes this, but in other cases where the original sound quality was pretty much perfect the remaster f-s it up with loudness-wars mastering and ruins the sound quality. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

    4cd's is overkill to me

    Who needs remastered CDs?!

That album kicks out even on a scabby tape-deck, it was that well produced.

Am only interested in one of the past re-issues of the single album on vinyl not the new 4 lp version, has anyone seen it in record shops around Dublin? I heard some of the re issues are well dodgy in terms of mastering and source (one is mastered off a cd apparently), the Back in Black 2009 re-issue from the analogue tapes is meant to be pretty good if anyone has seen it around?

One of the most important albums, but not one of the best. Not even Nirvana's best.

Will it be good this time?

I'll stick with my original, rather than fork out more money for badly remastered album and a few extras.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 648 ✭✭✭Neo#

How do you know its badly remastered? I think the original still sounds great so if the remaster is just louder and hurts your ears id stick with the original. But if the remaster is a genuine improvement and not a moneymaking scam ill definitely pick it up. I think ill wait for a few reviews!

I doubt any other albums will get the same treatment. Why are they only making 40,000?

Possibly because there aren't too many people willing to fork out £100 for it? Limited edition = collectable.
