normally use torrents but am thinking of switching over to one of these websites.

anyone know which is the best to get, the majority of them seem to be fileserve, rapidshare and megaupload?

I have RS premium and i get max speeds 99% of the time with UPC 30mb line. I got fileserve for a month and only got between 10mb-20mb 50% of the time.
RS use to be the main upload site for ages but these days uploaders are chopping and changing all the time.
I have RS and mydownloader.net at the mo

Depends on if you want to pay or not.
Fileserve free gives you 400kB/s max, Wupload gives you 500kB/s, Megaupload used to give you full whack as long as it wasn't a popular download.
It changes all the time, a lot of competition atm.

I use fileserve, happy enough with them, cheaper than rapidshare and very quick on UPC for the most part using a download manager (Internet download Manager), rapidshare is slightly faster, but you pay more for that. Also there is loads of fileserve links out there, not as much recent stuff on Rapidshare, although you probably wont run into difficulty finding stuff with either!

I have both a Rapidshare & Fileserve account.

Rapidshare is faster - I get about 24Mb/sec while on Fileserve it varies from 7 - 14 Mb/Sec.

There is a lot more content available on Fileserve though and that's more important for me.

If you do go with Fileserve, limit the amount of concurrent downloads to 4 or less. I find it works better.

I've seen a lot of talk about Real-Debrid lately, its one of these multi-host companies. Prices are good (€16 for 160 days) but I have a gut feeling that most filehosts will crack down on companies like these. I think fileserve are already trying to block them.

If they're still around and working when my fileserve expires i'll give them a shot. Im finding fileserve speeds very inconsistent lately, especially with older files.

anyone on UPC's 100mb package and using any of these? what can you max out your speed at? highest ive got on torrents in 10.5Mbps, but thats extremely seldom and i usually go between 2.5mbps and 6.5mbps, but id pay a bit for faster and consistent speeds.

I've been with Rapidshare for years and 99% get max speeds. It's harder to get RS links but still not impossible and they're becoming more frequent since they fixed their model. One thing I've noticed with companies like Fileserve is that they come and go very quickly in popularity.

Hotfile were the big-wigs last year.

I can vouch for Rapidshare downloading at 100Mb/sec 99%.

I have a premium Rapidshare account for years now. I recently purchased a Hotfile and Filesonic premium account too.

Based on my experience RS is the best by a long stretch.
    1. RS
    2. FS
    3. HF

I was Rapidshare for a long time (4-5 years) but recently moved to filesonic and I am very pleased with it. Links are a lot more plentiful and I usually max out my 8mb connection. Tried Fileserve for a month and got piss poor speeds.

as stated the leader changes each year. the best way to judge i find is go to the site you mainly use and see which hosts are on most links. i have a filesonic and wupload account due to my sites. fileserve seems to be everywhere too but you have to monthly subscribe which is a no no for premium account. although you can buy passes off resellers.
id avoid buying a year account on any of them as the lead host change like the weather . to max out your torrents your better off using private sites that have dedicated servers.

Myself & 4 friends bought one of Fileserve, Filesonic, Hotfile, Megaupload and Rapidshare, and we share the accounts among each other.

Filesonic are my favourite, I always get max speed on my 50Mb account, using Jdownloader.

Rapidshare are excellent also, but their links never seem to stay alive for very long.
Hotfile are very good, but have speed issues sometimes. Same with Fileserve.

Megaupload are muck a lot of the time.

I haven't tried Wupload, they seem to be the most popular for new files right about now.

Megaupload is handy though, the sites I use have a plug in so you can stream video files and the free version is fast enough to stream 720 HD content with no cut off.

Slightly off topic, but I'm able to download files one after another all @ full speed on rapid-share without any waiting times. Is it the same for everyone? Been like this for a few weeks now.

    Edit: Without an account obv.
