I use the HP officejet 6500. I find it very good. it has a document feeder so you can scan multiple pages and the scan quality is good.
It takes 4 separate inks and i think i spend about 15 euro on each. the printer itself should be out there for about 140 euro i think, should come up with a google search

Bought the Officeject 6500 wireless but just cannot connect up the Pc to the Printer . .

The printer is online, all diagnostics ok . .

I have tried turning on/off router/printer and pc.

I have tried the HP diagnostics programme that states that "the HP software required to connect your printer over the network could not be found on this computer."

However I installed the entire disk that I got with the printer!

Any suggestions would be welcome until I can login to the HP support forum that is currently not letting me login! FFS!

Try and download a driver for the printer online, Hp release updates and the driver on the cd may be out of date/have fixes releases. Go to www.hp.com and search for the 6500 driver

HP Officejet 6500 or 8500. I think they both do fax? I havent checked in a minute.

I know almost all the new HPs support Apple Airprint too, which is a nice plus if you have any iPods or iPads, as well as most of them doing HP ePrint.

Ink is virtually always cheapest when the cartridge type is New. Buy them and Stock them. As they get older they get produced less. And when they're discontinued you'll end up paying more for the ink than you would a blood transfusion per volume. Stock up Early, when the cartridges are cheapest. Universal Rule.

the 6500 and 8500 both have a fax line. imo the 6500 is far better value than the 8500. the 8500 is really just a deluxe version of the 6500 but not really worth the money for the extras.
