Are there any sites out there that let you know when a specific horse is entered in a race?

http://www.nagme.com/ is good, if you register you can set up free email alerts for when horses are running.

    www.irishracing.com

Enter the horses name and go to entries/declarations.

Irish racing has the "Horse Tracker" tool also

You can list horses & you are sent an e-mail to tell you when it's entered to run

    ^^^^

    This (horse tracker on irishracing.com).

I use it on-and-off and have found it quite good.

I have to agree with posts above, Horse Tracker is excellent for informing you of a horses entry. It does this at a few different entry stages. It is especially good for tracking a horse that you may have spotted run well in a bumper or maiden that you never heard of before and may be in danger of forgetting the name.
