    Hi all,

Sorry if this has been brought up before but why are all the crappy tickets allocated to TM?

I don't have any contacts in any clubs so I don't really have a choice when it comes to buying tickets.

Trying to get tickets for this Saturday and they only have tickets for the corner on the Hill16 side.
Would I have a better chance of getting better ones on the day?

You should try Tickets.ie. Ticketmaster only had 336 in Hogan for last Saturday. I tried Tickets.ie and they had 328.

Plus they don't rip you off with service charge either. Face value tickets and a €1 postage charge is all I paid.

    Thanks Claonadh1.

    I will check them out.

GAA Ticket Shop on Dorset Street can guide you through what's available and give you options if you can make it down in advance (and are lucky with their erratic opening hours!).

I found that big chunk of people don't sit where their ticket says anyways. I'm in the corner of the Cusack stand beside the Davin end and fully plan on sneaking in a few sections nearer the half-way line, especially since I'll be there plenty early enough to with the minor match involving my county too. Don't tell the stewards! :pac:

Try the ticket office on the north circular road oppesite gills pub, got tickets there before for a group of us, all seated together, and had a few choices of where to sit.

Looking at the information on tickets.ie, it seems only the lower tiers of the Hogan, Cusack and Davin stands will be open on Sunday. Is this correct?

I got equally as bad tickets for the football u21/ hurling league final from my club diagonally opposite where you have marked
Utterly abominable tickets and the same price as a center line ticket

And, as I was flyin in from Germany for the match I'd have paid a shaggin premium for a proper bloody ticket if it were possible in the first place.
Then again, Cavan were that dissapointing that I was better off having a terrible view of it!!!

Ticketmaster & tickets.ie are the sellers of last resort, getting the dregs when tickets are released, and getting any remaining unsold tickets the days before a game.

Clubs tend to get the best seats, and rightfully so, and really not too much stopping anyone from joining a club and supporting them, even if its just to get tickets every year.

County boards generally tend to get the next best batch of tickets, splitting them amongst players, families, etc, and often putting the rest on general sale (at least in Waterford, where I'm from).

Season ticket also a great scheme of which I'm a member, and aside from some admin hiccups this year, you're generally guaranteed as good a seat as is reasonable, with most seats being in row 2- 3 rows off the centre of the stand.

For some reason, internet ticket sales this year have been very hit and miss, as prior to joining up the season ticket scheme in '09, I would have relied solely on buying tickets online and never had much of a problem, assuming you're prepared to prowl ticketmaster & tickets.ie and hold your nerve for unsold club tickets coming back late.

I was just going to buy tickets on the day ? Assume there will be ticket sales van at the ground

There will be ticket sales on the day, but the queues can be quite long, so be sure to get there in plenty of time. The ticket shop on Dorset Street has the advantage of having more hatches than the ticket vans, so the queue moves a bit faster. The earlier you get there the better though. There will be a good crowd there, and lots arriving having to still get their tickets. Traffic will be heavy too, so allow yourself plenty of time to get there.
