Contented Accommodation

Sorry for yet another accommodation thread. *dodges missiles hurled in general direction*

The story is that I'm possibly going to be transferring to NUIG this year to do a course in Business Information Systems and if this is the case I'd like to find quiet, yet relatively affordable and convenient accommodation. I'll be pretty new to Galway as I'll be coming from Shercock in Cavan and have only visited the city twice or three times — bearing in mind I was small at those times. I've done that whole 'year of craic' party thing and I'm looking for something a bit more... Not sequestered, but collected. ;) Is there any area's that are considered as such but in a healthy vicinity to the campus.

Help would be humbly appreciated, many thanks in advance!

What's your affordable per week? Generally I find that's a good starting point for searching.

Private accommodation is much more affordable than student and can be great craic too. Unless you have a car, avoid places like Rahoon/Knocknacarra/Wellpark/Renmore as they are uncomfortably far from NUIG. Just look at Google maps and you will see. Sometimes it can look like a short distance on a map but then in person its a killer :P
