Suitable for a fancy wedding?

    Hey everyone

Just looking for your advice on an outfit I have picked out for a wedding this weekend- have had very limited time to find something I like & feel comfortable in! The wedding is in quite a castle & I feel it is going to be fancy but it isn't black tie or anything!

Attached is an image of a dress that I've bought in River Island and I have bought bright red velvet round toe platform shoes to pick up the red in the dress. I have a black netted underskirt from an old dress I have to put underneath to kick the skirt out a bit & have a wide black belt to tie in a bow to highlight nip in my waist.

I'm planning on wearing my hair in loose waves over one of my shoulders and maybe having a head piece of some sort (not sure what though).

Do you guys think it is a suitable look for a wedding? I wanted to steer clear of black but really couldn't find anything that i looked & felt nice in, besides this. I also thought the red accessories would brighten it up!

Cheers for any input! Apologies that the pic is so small!

I think it's a fairly casual dress, you'd really need to accessorize it to dress it up. If you're going for this I'd say you'd definitely have to go for a very dressy fascinator or something really weddingy to dress it up to wedding level. I had a look at the photo on the RI site, and I'd definitely tuck in or sew in the drawstrings on the shoulders, they make it very beach wear rather than formal enough for a wedding.

The dress is nice, but I do think it's a bit casual for a wedding to be honest.

    thanks for the replies guys.

I know the dress is casual but I really, really feel uncomfortable dressing up.

The netted underskirt that I am going to wear under it puff the skirt out a bit to give it more of a 50's shape, especially with my waist cinched in by the belt.

I've bought a gorgeous handbag to go with it & am planning to splash out a bit on the head piece (although I'm on a very limited budget) and glam up my hair & make up!

Hopefully it will look alright on the day- I don't think I have any time to find anything else!

    Cheers again!

I'm not really a fan of black clothes in general and I really don't like red but I actually think the way you're planning on accessorising the dress sounds fab!

I think it sounds like a really glam look, you should definitely go for it!!
