Internet Provider 9

Some time back I downloaded Internet Provider 9 as an update. Recently my daughter went on facebook to play some games, as these games required Adobe Player 9 she could not play them.
Adobe player 9 is not compatabile with IP9. I proceeded to uninstall IP9 as per Microsoft instructions by deleteing the update IP9 and rebooted when prompted to do so. However whilst the update is gone from the list of updates IP9 is still on my computer.
I have installed and uninstalled several times but still the same result. I tried System restore but as no restore point was available before I put IP9 on my computer. I failed to get rid of it.
According to Microsoft, Internet Provider 8 should be restored after removing IP9. Can anyone help:mad::mad::mad:

Firstly, it's "internet explorer".. Secondly, Flash player is currently on v10.3, so you should update to that http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?no_redirect

Finally, Internet Explorer is a rudimentary, bloated browser, you should get either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome instead.

There should be no errors playing flash games in Internet Explorer 9.

So when you go in to Control Panel to remove programs do you see the version of internet explorer there?

If you hit the window key on the keyboard and the letter 'r' together you should see a "run" box appear. Type "iexplore" and hit enter (without the quotes). Does anything open up for you?

Also Adobe Flash Player is already at version ten. So you could've updated that?

I like how you call IE bloated and proceed to recommend the most bloated browser there is, not to mention memory leaks everywhere.

Personally I think Opera is the best choice it has the best mix of features and many things come as standard which are only available through addons for other browsers.

You are not alone, try this, START, CONTROL PANEL, then click on uninstall a program, in the programs section. You wont se IE9 here so click on "view installed updates" in the left hand column, and you should see IE9 in this list. Click on it once and then click Uninstall in the top bar. PC will restart to complete the process. NB IE9 will still be listed as an important update in windows update, and this will need to be deslected when you rund windows update. Dont hide it as you may want it back one day.

    good luck

    IE9 is highly rated.

IE9 is actaully lighter then FF on windows. FF is much more competent on Linux OSs
That said I use Opera 11, great browser.

Have to say I kinda like the new IE9, sure it's basically just followed suit after FF who followed Chrome but I kinda think it's the best layout of the 3. I'm only using sparsely though so I haven't had to much time to find flaws.

I wouldn't use Internet Explorer out of principle. Its far to intergrated with the OS. Anyway since I deleted windows its gone \o/

OP, I'd really recommend Chrome or Opera. They actually comply with web standards too unlike Microsofts browser

just amended my first post to read how to uninstall it.

    Lads,
why completely over complicate matters by pointing the OP (who doesnt appear to be too computer literate) towards something they would have no experience with?

OP your best bet is to install Internet Explorer 9 (from here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IE/internet-explorer/products/ie/home ) - Restart your PC
Then head off an install Flash Player from here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ (untick the box for McAfee Security scan)

Actually re reading your post there I need some clarification........

Are you sure the games your daughter plays arent compatible with the newest version of flash player?
Also, how do you know that Internet Explorer 9 is still on the PC?

She was able to play the games on IE8 its only when I updated to IE9 that they wouldn't play.
After installing adobe player 10.3 I came across the following :- Adobe flash player 10.3 will not play on IE9.
I followed microsoft uninstall instructions after rebooting as per microsoft instructions IE was supposed to revert to IE8.
However the games still won't play which leads me to believe IE9 is still installed
I have checked with microsoft forums to find that this is a common problem

Flash Version 10.3.1 will work fine on IE9.
You can check what flash version you have installed by going here:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html

You can tell what version of internet explorer you have by doing this:
    http://www.thismachine.info/

I would be shocked if IE9 did not work well with Flash 10.3 or the most recent version of it.

Can you check as above what version of IE and Flash you have installed.

Firefox is safer than IE9. I could care less about bloat. And Chrome doesn't really have nearly as good an adblocker, so it's worthless to me as well, especially considering the amount of malware that can lurk in advertisements and ad-links and popups.

IE7,8,9 and 10 most certainly are OVERBLOATED with all kinds of crap one doesnt need!!

They also shouldnt be trusted as you dont know what data they might be sending out!

IE6 is the last good version of IE :)

Sure if you like using an outdated single-tab browser.

Don't know why you'd rather IE6 than a third party browser.

    Well two things

    1) There is an add-on for IE that gives it tabs if you want them....

    2) I use MyIE2 to surf with 99% of the time (Which has tabs)

MyIE2: The BEST add-on for IE!!
