    Hi all,
does anybody have any reports of holidaying in Sicily?

i'm going to Rome for 3 nights in september, and i'm thinking of going to sicily for a few nights also. as far as i know the train from Rome to Naples takes approx 2hrs (fast train) or 4hrs (slow train).

is it a long haul from Naples to Sicily, does the ferry take a long time?

any stories of experiences in Sicily much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Might be heading that direction myself. Ive looked into various ways of getting to Sicily and the quickest Ive found is actually a Ryanair flight from Rome (Ciampino) to Trapani. Tickets coming in at under 20 euro incl charges for the time Im thinking of going.
Compared to a long sticky train and ferry haul, its looking tempting.

i just checked those flightsand they're coming in at 65 euro return, but that doesn't include 1 checked bag which i think will add another 60 euro to the cost of the flights, plus the train is a good way to see the countryside. i'll have to research the cost of the ferry.
