    i know this might sound like a stupid question but do silencers on AEGS work, i have an M4 and was thinking of getting one. do they actually cut down on noise or are they just for show

    they generally cut out the higher pitch noises and leave a dull thump noise which is quieter, and harder to locate.
    the madbull silencers IMHO are the best out there.

    They're mostly for show. Some people use them to hide extended inner barrels, others just purely for looks. The Madbull Gemtech range of silencers are universally renowned as the airsoft silencers that actually have some form of silencing properties.

    The important thing to remember is that all they do is dull the noise from the barrel, and do not have any effect on the noise emitting from the gearbox i.e. the main body of noise :D

    been playing CoD :P like Inari said they're usually used to hide extended inner tightbore barrels. They won't effect accuracy as that comes from the actual barrel and and BB passing through the suppressor will already have (or not have) the stability it gained from the barrel as it passes through the suppressor so no it will not effect the accuracy

    Which ironicly is exactly what real silencers do so yes airsoft silencers work nearly the same as the real steel ones :D
