How do people see this one going ?? Its a hard match to call .... Donegal will be full of confidence after their Ulster final win ... Kildare have had steady momentum in the qualifiers so a great tactical battle awaits ... A game in Croker should give Kildare a slight advantage, I reckon they may swing it by 2 points in a tight encounter.;)

The 1st game this year that seems to be virtually a toss up , on paper at least. was leaning towards donegal until i thought about it a bit more and really i think there tactical approach may stiffle them in Croker especially against Kildare who are pretty experienced at this stage, therefore am changing my mind for the umpteenth time to kildare by 3

Just hearing a rumour its on sat evening at 6pm. Tough one to call but I can see Donegal shading it, perhaps even a draw. Will be a very tactical game and I cant see it being too enjoyable to the neutral fan.

I think the big pitch in Croke Park suits teams better to attack than defend. O'Conner and Cavanagh will have to perform. If both teams were to play to their best I'd expect a Kildare victory. I think Kildare would have a better chance of making the AI Final than Donegal do.

First real test (Dublin aside) for Kildare this year, now we will see what we are made of.Michael Murphy scares me a little.

Sat evening at 6 suits me fine if the GAA are reading :D

Unfortunately calling it a 'toss up' is about the most accurate prediction I can give too. Donegal are in their best form in a long time and will be buoyant from the Ulster final win. I'd love to be confident enough to say we will win it safely, but thats not the case.

Kildare are every bit as fit and as tactical as us and have indeed got what it takes to get through our blanket defence. To win we will need our defence to be at its best and we'll need to get plenty of ball in to our forward line who are more than capable of putting in the scores as long as they recieve the ball.

But that's my worry, our midfield simply doesn't win enough ball and could possibly be embarrassed by Kildares. We will need Cassidy and Kavanagh fit and on good form to put it up to the Kildare midfield.

Theres only so much our defence can do and if those two aren't on form I don't know if we will be able to withstand constant pressure.

I'm hoping Donegal can win this by a couple, but I know that'll be dependent on us nicking a goal or two.

The Kildare midfield is no great shakes to be honest with you if you were to take Johnny Doyle out of it. Given that he's been carrying a knock for a lot of the championship, fatigue is bound to catch up with this injury sooner rather than later.

I have every confidence that Donegal will just abour shade this at the weekend as Kildare haven't come up against a strike force as capable and versatile as Murphy and McFadden (I do include our FF line in that as well).

Rob Kelly had a very good game when he went into midfield the last day. I'd say he will be there the next day.

Think its fair to say this will be the pick of the games on the weekend. I always give a slight edge to the teams coming through the qualifiers when its tight but i'm going to ignore that this time and go for Donegal. Think Kildares weakness, if you can call it that, is exposed when teams match their work rate and commitment. Donegal will and its them by 1!

its something that terrifies me, especially after the cork quarter a few years ago, it wasnt exactly great in the cavan game earlier this year i though either (at least for claiming kickouts, ball in hand they strolled through). if Durcan's kickouts are as good as the Derry game and they play as they did then overall id say we will more than hold our own.
if we can get quick ball to murphy with mc fadden, mcbrearty/molloy running of his shoulder like the last 20mins of the ulster final we will win....IF!

Johnny Doyle has been carrying a knock for a lot of the championship??? You know more than we do.

Im a tad confused now. The world and his wife have been saying that Johnny should be playing in the forwards. Now it seems we can't do without him in midfield.

But having said all that I think we'll be caught out in midfield sooner or later.

With a game every week, his hammer must be under serious pressure now unless we were being told porkies in the run-up to the Leinster semi final.

donegal midfield and half forward line very weak.their defence will struggle on the large croke park pitch.
kildare very fit and q powerful.
hope im wrong but kildare by a few

This could be a cracker. I'm expecting a close tactical game with only a couple of points in it at the final whistle. I'm swaying towards Kildare but Donegal could equally sneak it - nearly impossible to call for me - draw maybe.
