Can anyone help me with this problem on my 05 Focus 1.4 Zetec, sometimes when turning a corner the engine cuts out. this also happens when going straight. Left it in with my local mechanic twice and he could not find anything. The car will start imediately, twice it nearly caused an accident as no brakes.:confused::confused:

Check the wires and sensor on the power steering pipe or pump.

could it be the fuel filter?

I'd be more concerned about the no brakes part. I'd get it towed to a garage pronto.

Engine cut out and there was no vacuum left in the brake assist. The brakes only harder to press but still there. OP just got a fright.
