    Hey,

Still at this project, and the longer its taking to do the more ideas that come into my head!!

But i was just wondering what would be yer thoughts on converting the engine To A Glanza V engine??

So it would be a 1.3 straight for a 1.3 turbo?

and as far as i know the engine and gearbox of a Glanza V is located the same as the original!!

Just want to do something Different!! And im not going for power as much!! If i wanted power id be going for a different car!! :p

But ya whats yer thoughts and what would be needed?? e.g. Wiring loom etc..

    Thanks In advance,,,

    DJ.K :)

    what?

i'm just saying, and i do wish you the best of luck in where ever this project takes you, that if your having to ask those sort of questions via an internet forum, you may not have what it takes to put a glanza V engine into an orion.

and even if you did do it, it would do the 4E-FTE nor the orion any justice in my opinion.

non detered i admire nearly every model of escort and orion for that matter so get a project thread up with a few photos if you wish, i'd like a look :P

    Allot.

Spliced Wiring loom Frankenstein job (hours and hours with two manuals a multimeter)
    Custom Gear linkage
    Custom Engine mounts
    Custom Rad hoses
    Custom Rad mounting
    Custom exhaust
    Custom drive shafts
Custom Fuel return line to tank
    Clutch and pedal travel adjustment

    Safety bits:
    Rear breaks to disk brakes
Engineers report to even get close to insuring it

    Then the fun bits:

Is the gearbox using an electrical or mechanical speed sensor and how to make that work.

Is it a cable or hydraulic clutch and how to make that work.

Iv seen people do "easy" conversions that took over a year so don't expect to bang it out in a month.

OP, is it a 1.3 CVH or a 1.3 HCS/Endura in the Ford?

If it's a CVH, the "easy" (easier that what you suggested) thing to do is to find a 1.8 or 2.0 Zetec out of a Mondeo or Focus. The Zetec engine was basically a twin cam head dropped onto a CVH block, so things like engine mounts/gearbox & driveshafts would all be in the same place. The Ford parts bin can be raided for stuff like rad, mounts, exhaust, etc.

It's a hell of a lot easier than custom everything!
