    Hi all,
    Someone I know is looking to go to see the F1. So, I've been asked to find out
    * Which one is the best to go to?
    * How much is it?
    * When/where is it on?
    * Is it more stress-free to do a package, or book all the bits by yourself?

    By when/where is it on, I mean where have fellow boardsie's found to be the best place to go to (eg: Monte Carlo), and should they go to one that will occur this year, or should they be best waiting until the beginning of next year?

    Oh, and before someone asks "why don't I ask the someone who is looking to go", this has been one of those things that they've been meaning to go to for the past 40 or so years; I've been asked to get information to get the ball (or should that be wheel?) rolling.

    Spa in Belgium next month. It's about €250 each to drive across Britain and France for 4 passengers including tickets for the weekend (not including camping) tickets for ferries and the channel tunnel and fuel. It's a great circuit and the general admission tickets allow you to spectate at some nice pieces of track. Monza in Italy could be good also, and tickets for the stands for the weekend would be about the same as general admission tickets for Spa in Belgium.

    Next year, I'd say for proximity Silverstone would be a great race to view. General admission for the weekend starts at £180 I think, and a ferry and fuel would probably be in the region of €140 there and back. Next year at Nurburgring is about the same cost as Belgium, how ever the general admission tickets spectator areas are not as good as they are at Belgium. They are how ever cheaper, but it's further away so the fuel cost to get there driving is slightly more expensive.

    Ive been to Monza, Hungary and spa a few times and for me Spa is the best. I dont see why you need to drive to Belgium by the way. A cheap Ryanair flight will get you over. Personally I always book everything myself but I do a lot of traveling and am used to organising my own trips by now.

    The earlier you book through a tracks website the bigger a reduction you get. This season you probably wouldnt get any reductions although if you went to spa say you would defo pick up people selling tickets (or maybe not - its a chance)

    Thanks Sheeps, but the people who'll be going will fly over. losthorizon; they have gone on a few trips a year, but sometimes they do the packages as it's less stress involved.

    Is there a company that will organise a package deal from Dublin/London for Spa? I'm aware of the Ryanair option, its the getting to and from the airport traffic delays stress etc that make me look to a package deal, only thinking about it at this stage.

    When I went looking up GPs the hungry one seemed to be the cheapest. That's the one I have on my to do list.

    Went to Monza a couple of years ago and would recommend it. Flew into Bergamo with Ryanair and based myself there. It's only 40 minutes by train from Monza. Great circuit and had tickets for the granstand on the start/finish straight.Was pretty painless tbh.
