The rails (or at least the feet) are going to be car-specific, but here's a crowd who rent roofboxes: http://www.micksgarage.ie/roof-box-hire.aspx?gclid=COjgksu1naoCFUoc4Qod0Q0Uyg

It most likely has the rails (from front to back) already, but he needs the bars that go across I'd guess. May depend on the year as pointed out by fabsoul, anything from 97 to 02ish has rails AFAIK. The HRVs on the other hand may or may not have had rails, euro models did, jap imports generally didn't.

Did Lidl have generic roof bars in the last few weeks? Think I remember seeing them. Have a set of them from the last time round - only used once or twice but had no issues with them.

Lidl currently have roof bars for €35. They're for cars like yours that already have rails.

www.team.ie I know your budget is tight, but they have an offer inc box, bars and fitting kit, free delivery as well. If they don't have the bars, they knock €50 off the price. Biggest box works out around €300.

Thanx for reply... at this stage I think we are just going to try to get everything packed without a roof box.. Would rather we spend the money on the kids when away as it was just going to work out too expensive:)

Don't forget to use the stash space under the picnic table in the boot!
