Flash contest -- Ireland's highest temperature 25-31 July

Rules:

1. Your entry must be placed in the thread before 0300h Monday 25 July. Late entries will go into a late entry consolation pool. Entries after the fact (reporting an observed temperature) will be ignored.

2. Predict the highest temperature (in tenths of a degree C) anywhere in (the Republic of) Ireland in the period starting Monday 25th July and ending Sunday 31st July, inclusive.

3. Verification will be based on Met Eireann published data as reviewed by MTC and the first and ultimate verification source will be the monthly maximum reported in the "Monthly Summary" which should be available some time on Monday 1st August. This assumes that the monthly maximum will be in the period of the contest which seems likely.

4. You do not need to say where or when the temperature will occur, but feel free to add that information if you wrote it down in the tardis.

5. Any forecasts without a decimal value will be converted, e.g., a forecast of 26 will enter as 26.0

Good luck ... the contest host's prediction is 28.5

If any responsible person wishes to offer a prize would you kindly contact me by PM ... otherwise, the prize is a free drink of your choice when I next visit Ireland. You'll have to get in my path on your own, but my path could be fairly wide. :eek:

You would think the guys who actually believe in global warming would have the higher base-line on these matters, but perhaps the warming comes through as cooling in the old climate change machine. Makes me dizzy, I know one thing, if ye had no Atlantic, 32 for sure, no problema.
