Hey all! My dad has a 03 pajero and recently it has started leaking oil underneath which I presume is gear oil. It looks like its coming from one of the drive shafts. Has anyone any ideas if its a serious problem? Just wanted to get a heads up before I get scammed from some garage. Thanks

What engine size? The 2.5 has a crankshaft seal that is prone is going.

If you are near dublin I know of a guy that is very reasonable and reliable. He is up behind the sugar loaf. I have been taking my pajero and navara to him for about 6 years now for various things.

I'd be looking at this too. The seal can often be damaged if some grass, twine or wire became entangled in the shaft. Its a simple enough fix. Be careful not to damage the metal cap over the seal when removing it.
