Anyone know where I might find a list of any european TV stations broadcasting the RWC this year? I've googled without much success.

I'm going to be in Slovakia for it, and there's a fairly good range of sat tv channels available, but I'm not sure which ones may actually be broadcasting it!

    Help?

Thanks, been looking for something with this info.
Nothing in there for Spain, however - any idea who's broadcasting there?

No idea about Spain. If its not broadcast on Spanish tv some of the French or Portuguese channels might be available there.

The IRB should not charge them much to show it. They should be trying to grow the game in countries like Georgia and Russia.

Anyone know if RTE2 will be showing the matches in HD? Presumably there will be a HD feed for broadcasters.....

It'll be spread between the two but we don't know the breakdown. However, you can probably bet that anything that's on RTÉ will be on Setanta Ireland, as Setanta have nothing to gain by putting them on Setanta Sports 1. Which brings me to:

Currently RTE2 only have the ability broadcast on HD on Saorview (digital TV through your aerial in the Republic). On all other digital platforms (UPC/Sky/Virgin) it is currently SD only. They haven't announced yet whether they will be showing the games they have in HD on Saorview. RTÉ only have the live rights to the opener, Ireland pool matches, and all matches from the quarter finals onwards - so 13 matches in total.

Some good news regarding the Rugby World Cup. ITV have announced their broadcast schedule today and the vast majority of the games are on ITV1 (UTV/STV) - including all of Ireland's pool matches. Unadvoidably, some games have ended up on ITV4, but far fewer than I thought would be the case.

All the games from the QF stage on are on ITV1.

The Irish representation on the ITV team is provided by the ever-present Craig Doyle (who else!) and Alan Quinlan is on the panel. I'd imagine UTV will run their own coverage for Ireland games as they have done in the past.

Apparently ITV will not be borrowing Harrison and Barnes this time round.

Each of Wales' Pool D matches will be shown in full on ITV1 Wales - the coverage start times are as follows:

    • September 11: Wales v South Africa (09.10hrs)
    • September 18: Wales v Samoa (04.15hrs)
    • September 26: Wales v Namibia (07.00hrs)
    • October 2: Wales v Fiji (05.30hrs)

So ITV is where it's at.
Is ITV on regular Sky? I know it's on 'Other Channels' but as far as I know, I won't be able to set sky plus to record these early morning matches on ITV.
I was actually gonna get the sky sports package for the RWC for this reason so I could series link all the games on Setanta and watch the games at my leisure.

If there's any alternative to this let me know what your thoughts are.

Sweet. I can watch ITV4 on Sky but can't record so most being on ITV1 suits me great.

Rte said they will broad cast 13 matches. But I can only count 12 matches.
    4 pool games
    4 quarter finals
    2 semis
    1 bronze final
    1 final
    that =12
    where is this 13th game?

You can record 'other channels' but not using Sky+facilities... first tune your Sky box to ITV4, connect your box to external recorder e.g. DVD/video and record ITV4. You have to keep the box tuned to ITV4 during the recording which is a nuisance and process is not as straightforward as using Sky + but possible none the less.

No mine isn't set up like that. We have UPC which I can use to record games on ITV1. For ITV4 we have one of those freeview Sky boxes that gets the British versions of all the channels. You're right though I could set up the DVD player to record it I suppose but fuck that :pac:

Sorry for confusion on my part but can you explain what a 'freeview Sky box is' as Freeview is UK terrestial system and Sky is satellite. Do you mean a FTA sky satellite box, a Freeview set top box or Freesat box?
