    black suit ?
    jeans and a jacket ?

How are you related? Immediate family, general relation, friend?

    Was the person young, old.

Is there any specfic requests from the family, ie, one I was at all the female relatives wore summery, colourful clothes as that was what their mum/gran would have expected.

    Black suit. Black tie.

At the very least you should wear trousers (not jeans) a shirt and a tie. If you were closely related I'd say a suit.

It depends on how you are connected to the person, but I would say wear nice trousers, shirt and tie at least. A suit jacket wouldn't hurt either if you have one.

If it's a close family member, suit and black tie. If it's a friend or acquaintance, dark trousers and dark shirt, preferably black, would suffice. And shoes rather than trainers. It's really not that big a deal as far as etiquette goes as long as what you are wearing is sombre and respectful.

    thanks guys
its my uncle - I was thinking black suit, won't wear a tie though, as he wouldn't have been his style ( if that doesn't sound too silly )

I'd go with the tie too tbh, proper knot too.

hi, if you read the thread title it says bloke in it and its quite old.
you'd get a much better response if you started your own thread as a lot of people won't bother ( particularly girls )with this old thread for a bloke !
