This was one of the most heartbreaking stories in not just football, but all of sports last year. Some of you may recall Rutgers' Eric LeGrand suffering a horror injury during a kick return, resulting in him being paralysed from the neck down. Well he's on the road to recovery, and released this picture a couple of weeks ago of him standing for the first time since the accident, albeit with a little help.

This video is a must watch, I absolutely guarantee you will well up when watching it.

Puts the petty squabbles of millionaire owners and players in a bit of perspective.

Not the best circumstances to bump this thread, but Rutgers has been hit hard again and another young player suffered a serious injury. LeGrand's team mate Anthony Conner broke his neck playing last night. Hopefully he can recover and shows the same fight Eric has, but it's bloody heart breaking luck that really puts the game in perspective :(

Pretty sure Conner plays CB for Louisville ? They played Rutgers last week so that was probably it !

thankfully despite breaking his neck he didnt paralise himself which is great news.

now lets just hope Legrand keeps defying the odds
