Mediterranean Bareboat Charter

    Hi all,

I'm hoping to charter a small yacht abroad sometime in 2012. I've been looking at some of the charter websites to get an idea of prices etc but I'd appreciate any tips from anyone here whose done this before.

We're looking for low-cost, relaxed sailing in sunny weather, ideally somewhere in Southern Europe. We'd actually be happy to charter for just a few days, but that doesn't seem to be widely available. Aside from the cost of the bareboat, what other expenses do we need to budget for? Here's my list so far: Flights, transfers, berthing fees, fuel, food... what else am I missing? What insurance issues might I need to be aware of? Which important extras might be left out of the charter price? Which destinations have the cheapest berthing fees? Anything else I should know?

    Thanks very much
