Modifying commercial 4x4

    Hi guys, looking for advice.

Im interested in getting a commercial 4x4 for transporting dogs. I was hoping to remove the false floor behind the driver and passenger seat and installing dog crates, but was told today by a friend that if you take out the floor its no longer commercial and cannot be insured as one. Surely if you're modifying it for commercial reason's it would be ok?

    Any advice?

The floor is there for a reason AFAIK, I've seen a Freelander commercialized before and it didn't have any floor in it and it was fine.

Cant see why it would need to have the floor tbh. I thought the stipulation was that all mountings etc for seats and belts were permanently removed and holes covered.

OP, I was thinking of using the space under the floor as storage (lwb landcruiser) but not really that much extra space (about 8-9 inches of depth) Not sure its worth the hassle.
