new Nikon lens - question

    Hi

I bought a Nikon AF-S 55-200 VR on Amazon, via a marketplace seller (it was mailed to a friend in England who then posted it to me).

The lens came in a 'white box' with a sticker on it saying 'Nikon 55-200VR'. I assume this is a kit lens that has been broken up to sell on, but this wasn't mentioned in the product description. Will this reduce the value if I resell at some point?

Also, there was a 'manual' in the box, but no warranty. I'm going to contact the seller about this, but should a warranty be included? I've read conflicting reports on the internet about whether or not Nikon will honour warrantys from non-registered dealers (not sure if this seller is one).

Finally, when I turn the lens over, there is a faint rattle/clunk - is this normal?

    Thanks!
