Potential new job and holiday problem

I know this may be a bit to late to be looking for people on here since I have the interview today at 14:30 but here goes.

On Tuesday I was left a voice mail (I had absolutely no reception) and was told that management were really keen to meet me for a job that I applied for a month ago. I only received the voice mail three hours later and by that stage the woman had left me an email saying that they wanted to meet me asap.

I rang back and arranged the interview today and by the sounds of it I have a good chance of being offered the job. The woman had said that in the department where the post is they are flat out, hence the urgency to meet me.

My question is this, say I was offered the job today or next week, I would accept and give my four weeks notice to my current boss, which would be grand. The problem is that I am planning on going away on the week beginning 5th or 12 September for my girlfriends birthday but don't know yet since the college wont let her know about the date of her repeat exam. She has pursued them rigorously about them.

I am worried about asking off this time in the interview. Should I say I want the two weeks off, I want a week off but don't know which one yet, or just book the second week off since I would guess the exam would be on the first week?

    Thanks in advance.

i am starting a position in a busy company next week and have 3 weeks holidays booked. i told them before signing the contract - and they said because i gave them notice then its fine. the holiday is paid for ages ago and to be honest if they said "its the job or your holidays, you have to decide" then i would say "get lost" as a company that tried to make me decide wouldnt be worth working for.

you dont have anything booked so its a different story

If they make you an offer be up front about it and say that you've got planned holidays either for week X or Y and that a requirement of you accepting is that you can still take it. Most companies will allow it (I know I have) as long as people are up front about it before accepting the offer.

Oh and make sure you get it in writing even if they say yes (i.e. e-mail them after the interview as well) in case of any disputes that may arise later.
