    http://dup.ie/

Thought this was a piss take originally because of the Michael Ring quote, who was clearly being tongue-in-cheek with the Queen remark.

If it's serious have they gained much support since their inception? Is there an appetite for unionism with the United Kingdom in any sections of Irish society? Haven't heard of a movement like this in the south until I stumbled upon the aforementioned website yesterday.

Bit of a weird one. Its clearly a pisstake (B O'Neill )

however, you really get the impression that he believes a lot of the stuff he's saying in the videos. It doesn't come across as pure satire to me anyway.

Given the amount of support the Royal visit received, the levels of "West Brit"ness (if the term can be properly defined) would seem to be high.

No self-respecting West Brit would want anything to do with those plebeian Presbyterian shopkeepers in the DUP.

    That's a bit harsh...

    But fair.

Not a bad idea to be honest.

Well then he has succeeded, he is an actor AFAIK, and the site is to stir up some interest in him.

The UK is already in its own deep financial trouble. Can you really afford us Keith? :D

Ah, it all makes more sense in that context. Was so odd the way there were so many clear clues he was having a giraffe, but at times in the videos you're wondering if he's for real or not.

It would have been more believable if he'd done it as the UUP.

There's a big difference in supporting the royal visit and wishing to enter into the UK again.
