I don't think it's even possible to casually listen to Nine Inch Nails.

Now, here are some of your no-name bands. Sonic Youth? Nine Inch Nails? Hullabalooza?

Why on earth did you put NIN and Lady Gaga together in the same sentence?

I casually don't listen to any of the music created by those on that list: except for the occasional bit of NIN.

I like all the big ones - Verdi, Puccini, that whole gang.

I'm not too keen on older stuff.

no way man those bands are too mainstream, I used to like them before everyone started loving them. Now I only listen to underground bands that you've probably never even heard about, man.

I'm more of a Manic Street Preachers person, myself. I'd rather boil my head in oil, than listen to Coldplay.

I don't like Coldplay but I detest Manic Street Preachers far more. Pretentious, faux-intellectual, insipid drivel....and Nicky Wire is a cúnt of the highest order.

Also I like Nine Inch Nails but I also like Lady Gaga and Kings of Leon. Contrary to popular belief it is actually possible to enjoy more than one genre of music.

    I like the Foo Fighters...

Does that give me a good taste in music or am I one of those people that like bands like the Foo Fighters because they're popular :pac:

ya have to love these threads where OP thinks they have a far better taste in music than the "average" person because they listen bands like NIN and other less known bands...

and would Coldplay and Kings of Leon be "cooler" to listen to if they didn't do so well in the charts... I like Kings of Leon and there's a lot worse music out there than a bit of Coldplay and liked them before Sex on Fire but are they now a band that you can't say you love and try to keep that "real music lover " tag because they were really popular for one song and that song ended up being popular in niteclubs and everything...

LOL u r a idiot. You have to like obscure non-mainstream bands to have good taste in music. The best bands don't appeal to the majority, they are superior and thus only appeal to a cult following who have trained ears and enjoy real music. Duh.

In all seriousness though I hate people who think they have such a good taste in music because they don't like mainstream bands. I enjoy a lot of lesser known bands but I don't advertise it because then you just look like that guy. Different strokes for different folks.
