Problem with Mira Elite 2 Shower - strange sound and no water

Have a Mira Elite 2 which is installed for 5 years but only used for the past 2.5 (en suite wasn't tiled until then) - and would have been used maximum - once per day.

As of this morning, when I switch it on, I can hear the noise of it - but it's what I can only describe as an 'uneven' noise if that makes sense. Normally, when they are running they are very loud anyways - but as of now, it's not consistently loud. Also, little to no water coming through.

Immediately, I turned down the heat setting to the very minimum - and switched to low pressure. This didn't change anything - and the low pressure light came on - and so, I powered off the unit. I left it 4 hours - and tried it again - and its the same thing.

If anyone knows where I should start to troubleshoot this, I'd really appreciate it.

sounds like you need to clean the filter

this happened to our shower before

check your manual, its simple enough to do

I would start by checking the filter,
turn off the water supply to the shower,
    turn off electricty ,
remover cover and where the water supply connects the the shower usually a silver coloured connection on the left hand side under the wires , on this silver connection the end of it is black plastic and is a filter it can be unscrewed with a spanner.

you will get a little burst of dead water check this filter for debris . if there is crap caught in it wash it out put it back , turn back on water and electricity and try it out.
