Do temporary workers get a P60 and a P45?

I worked for a month this year in a shop as a temp, and I was wondering if I get a P60 and a P45 even though I was a temporary worker? I know that I was emergency taxed, and I still have all my pay slips. But I don't have a P60 and a P45 and have just applied for the PAYE P21. I'd really appreciate any help that anyone can give me with this!

You should have received a P45. A P60 is only issued if you are still in employment at year end (31st December). As you were not and have been let go mid year, you will receive a P45. Contact your old employer for this.

You say that you worked this year and have now applied for a P21 .

Unfortunately , you cannot get a P21 until year end , meaning that this document will not be available to you until earliest January 2012 .

But you have done the right thing and applied for tax refund .

All your tax /PRSI details are on the final payslip that you received when you were working , so photocopy the last one and keep it secure .

For the moment , you should fill in Form P50 and send it to tax office along witha copy of your final payslip .

Well, I need the documents for a student grant application so I'm unsure of what they will and won't accept.

The year of assessment for your grant will be 2010.

If you were not employed in 2010 , you cannot produce a P21 - However , it would be advisable to requesta P21 for 2010 from tax office , and let them write to you stating that you had no earnings in 2010 ( if this is the case ) .

If you had Social Welfare income in 2010 , you can request a Statement of Earnings for 2010 from SW office .

I was employed for a month in 2010. I requested a P21, think I might have to ring the revenue tomorrow!
