Hi folks in the process of renovating an old garage.
All advice and reccomendations greatfully received.

It measures about 22x13ft and 8ft high walls

    Wall and floor paint
I was thinking about brightening it up with garage floor paint, and wall paint as it's a bit dingy at the moment.
I know garage floor paint car wear of if subject to heavy abuse, but this garage will see mostly light work / home repairs. So I'd be grateful for any reccomendations and advice, best brands, colours etc.

    Medium duty Workbench
Will consist of vice, bench grinder, pillar drill etc.
Any advice on timber layout/sizes/fixings ?

    Shelving
Will be putting in medium duty shelving
Any advice on timber layout/sizes/fixings ?

    Other
I'll be making a welding table and I'll be adding a small/medium compressor.
If you think of any other useful additions, let me know

Hopefully this thread will also be useful to others, so add any queries you might have

For lighting, id suggest looking at flourescent fittings that are vapour proof, making it easy to clean them down.

Look at t5 fittings rather than t8, as all t5 are high frequency, so they use less energy, last longer and have no stroboscopic effect if there is anything fast moving

If there is a choice between single or double Fittings, choose more single lamped fittings to give more even light, and when laying them out consider where you need lit, so mount them on the walls as well as ceiling
