Damaged Alloy

    Hi,

I hit a very bad pothole last winter and burst the tyre. They said in the tyre centre that there was no damage to the rim but put it on the rear just to be safe. It went for an oil change today, while up on the lift i spun the wheel and noticed that there's like a flat spot on the inside while the outside of the rim seems fine. There isn't any noise or shuddering while driving. The mechanic said that i could get hit out again but i'm reluctant to do this. Any thoughts or suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks

The proper repair companies don't bang the dents out, they put it on a machine that measures the maximum circumference of the wheel rim, and then using a combination of heat, and force, rolls out the damaged part until it's the same radius as the rest of the rim.

No it's an original 17 inch vw wheel. Picture of same wheels on done deal (not mine). The dent is only on the inside lip of the rim as far as i can see.
