Ive got my debs next week and Im stuck for what make up to do for it. My dress is lilac, and I'm wearing silver jewellery. What colour should I do on my eyes? I was thinking brown as I have blue eyes but any suggestions would be great!

    Hi hatethisfeeling,

Debs make up is tricky, you want to look glamorous but make sure you don't look completely different to who you are.

I too have blue eyes, and I wore Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Palette for my debs. It contains a concealer and 3 shades of champagne/brown colours. Its pretty fool proof and it comes with an instruction manual too. You really can't go wrong with this.

My sister bought and used this for her debs two years later. And I use mine all the time. Good value for money, in the sense it is reusable. Not soley for your debs. I have bought 3 or 4 of them too :D

Either way, don't go too matchy matchy with your dress. Have you seen girls in turquoise dresses with matching turquoise eyeshodow? Unflattering and overkill. You definately are on the right track eitherway with your choise of brown.

    Best of luck.:)

i would go with a smoky eye look with grey colour instead of a black with a nude lips .

best thing is to bring either a picture or the actual dress to a department store and ask one of the make-up counter girls for advice. I got a smokey eye tutorial and trial done for free at MAC for an event. If they're not busy they'll do it on you there and then, but they'll push the products big time :D

but it does give you ideas for shades etc and you might have some at home already :)

For my debs last year I had a blue dress and I went for a lighter smokey eye look and I was very happy with it. I wouldn't go for your dress having to match your eyes as the main thing it to flatter your face and bring out your eyes.

I chose a lighter looking smokey eye as I hate the look of dark smokey eyes on me as I'm blonde. If I have two really almost black eyes it looks awful.

Maybe you could do smokey eyes with grey shades as another poster suggested. Do a trial run if possible too and that'll make you feel more relaxed that it'll work out for you :)
