Perfect Weight for Height?

So for the last 4 months I've been on a very low calorie diet and am now on to the third stage of my programme (there are 4 stages, with the third one having three parts). I've moved out of both Obese categories and am now classed as overweight, after I reach my next target I will have a healthy BMI. I'm now 13 stone, 5 foot 6 female and the target for the end of this whole process is 10 and a half stone. So I've another 2 and a half stone to lose.

Basically my issue is that I am just wondering if I was say 11 stone would that be unhealthy for my height too? Personally I feel that if I was to lose another 2 stone I would be comfortable with my weight. I used to be miles off from my friends and now if I lose a stone I'll be the same as most of them (although I'd like to lose more), I've gone down nearly two dress sizes on top and nearly three on bottom, I've also lost alot of my boobs (which I thought were naturally big, but it turns out it was just fat! :) ). I'm in the gym and everything now and plan to continue going after I finish this diet too. I'm just wondering what all of you think? Is 11 stone unhealthy or is the Doctor completely right in saying that I SHOULD be 10 and a half stone?

Hi I'm a similar height (5 6 and a half to be precise) and I'm aiming for around 10-10 and a half stone. At 11 you would be right at the top end of the normal BMI range which is a healthy weight but dosent give you a whole lot of room for seasonal/holiday gains. The reason I was aiming a bit lower was to give myself a bit of breathing space so that if I do gain a bit here and there I wont go into the over-weight range immediatley.

Ultimatley they are only numbers so my advice is to see how you feel when you get there, maybe try to get to 11ish and then switch your focus to reshaping your body & increasing muscle tone. Once you are a relativley healthy weight there is no need to obsess about the scales, just go by how your clothes feet etc.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. I suppose you do have a point what with leaving space for possible weight gains around Christmas and stuff. It's better to be a little bit less than what I'm supposed to/want to be rather than a little bit more.

Don't get so caught up in figures like BMI or your weight. fine for a general guide but you need to go by how you look/how clothes fit. or even measure bodyfat% or hip to waist ratio

Thanks for your reply, ya that was the way I was figuring I wanted to look at things, I'll be happy when I drop another 2 (max) dress sizes.
