When i broke up with my ex i started seeing this guy i met at work. He also just got out of a year long relationship. Were both 22. It got serious quickly but we got on great and told each other we werent just each others rebounds, i ment it when i said it and really thought that he did too. Then i went away for 6 weeks, we promised to stay in touch and he said he would miss me and couldnt wait for me to come home so we could progress in are new relationship. After a few weeks of being away i noticed we were talking less and less but i wasnt too worried and thought it would be fine once i came home. When i came home he was completely different and acted like nothing ever happened. I saw him in work today for the first time and things were very awkward. He hasnt mentioned anything about how we used to be and i need to find away to ask him what happened but im nervous and scared that it will make everything worse. Iv been acting cool in work and trying to act like im happy and nothing is wrong but im dieing inside and need to know why he changed so much and in such a short space of time. How can i pluck up the courage to ask him and how do i say it in a way that wont leave me looking like a victim when he more than likely tells me the things i least what to hear. Some advice would be great. Thanks!

    Better here Sophielovesu

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Oh it doesn't look great does it? :( I remember being in that position when I was about 18, fecking off to France for the summer and coming back and he'd met someone else. This may be a possibility. There are heaps of possibilities but if his behaviour has shifted so radically then it probably doesn't bode that well. You need to have this conversation because I am sure the not knowing part is the worst. At least when you know, you can then deal with it.

He may have felt like you were going to forget him while you were apart. The diminishing contact and the absence of contact since you came back may have confirmed it in his head.

I'd suggest you ask him has he got time for a coffee or maybe a beer some evening soon. If he just says no, maybe leave it at that. If he says yes, there's you chance to have a chat away from the work environment and see what's going on.
